Envisions to create an inclusive society
Equal Opportunity Cell
The Equal Opportunity Cell (EOC) at Apex Professional University envisions to create an inclusive society.
The cell is dedicated to create pathways for students with disabilities and those from marginalised sections of society. Special support is provided to slow learners and those who need additional help through a variety of means such as remedial and extra classes. APU has constructed ramps, railings, accessible washrooms and Braille-enabled sign boards for differently abled persons. The cell organises activities aimed to initiate conversations on various barriers confronting students with disabilities and other forms of social exclusion, build empathy, and to motivate them to overcome societal barriers.
Our mission is to foster an environment of awareness, equity, and equal opportunity, promoting social inclusion, diversity, and cohesion within our institution.

The main problem faced by individuals with disabilities and those belonging to the marginalized sections of society stem from disabling environment and socio-cultural and economic barriers. Discrimination against any person on the grounds of his/her disability or physical limitations and minority status is a gross violation of universally accepted principles of equality and human rights and even constitutional obligations. Their problems in the field of higher education are a matter of great concern which needs urgent attention.
The Indian Society is singular in terms of the multifarious hues it has absorbed in its fabric. Living within its clinch are numerous groups that are segregated on the basis of language, ethnicity, class, caste, religion etc. This inequitable situation warrants a redemption which is possible through Equal Opportunity measures and policies.
EOC works for affirmative action for the deprived sections such as people from SC, ST, OBC (Non-creamy layer) categories, religious & language minorities, differently-abled, and women.
